The Hoodlum Soldier

In 1943, in northern Manchuria, new recruits arrive in a Japanese military camp for special training. Omiya, one of the new soldiers, is a former yakuza whose reputation for being an undisciplined brute leads him to be under the orders of Arita, an intellectual who failed the exam to become a high-ranking officer because of his repulsion for military hierarchy. United by a shared disgust of martial laws and in spite of diametrically opposed characters, these men will become friends and will try to escape the violence of the camp.
